leanne-sluggyhorn:

Leanne rolled her eyes and pushed herself up.  “Yes, we have to,” she said.  She stuck her tongue out at him.  “Do you want to carry the baby or put her in the stroller?  It’s all up to you, really, because you’re the one that has to push the stroller or carry her.”  She smiled and stood on her toes to kiss his cheek.  She couldn’t believe they were going to finally find out what their baby was.  A boy, a girl…a unicorn.  Not that she really thought that, and she knew he didn’t either, but she figured it’d be fun to humor him.  “I think it might be me that’s proven wrong, if I’m being honest.  You always have had a sixth sense for gender or species of a baby.”  Leanne went to the front door to grab the fully packed diaper bag and her purse.  “Let’s go!  I want to know what’s in me!” she said.  She held out the diaper bag for him because it was too heavy for her.

“Stroller.” he answered with a nod and then looked back at Bronwyn. “Sorry, princess, but I’m old and lazy.” he winked, giving her a kiss on the cheek and then putting her snugly in the stroller. “I hope you are.” Horace laughed. “Unicorns are so much cooler than babies. Babies are boring. Unicorns are cool.” he said with a nod and then looked back down at Bronwyn. “No offence.” he added, winking at her and trying to make her giggle. “Onwards and upwards!” he said, opening the door for her and taking the diaper bag. “What’s in this, holy Merlin. Are you smuggling mexicans in this?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.

leanne-sluggyhorn:

Leanne nodded a little bit.  Chase had been spending a great deal of time with Kamber and she wasn’t sure if it was because Ron was gone or because she was having the new baby or a mix of both.  But she felt like it had to do with the baby because it was easiest to blame herself.  The only problem with that was that it made her feel horrible and guilty and like there was nothing she could do to make anything better.  “I’m sure they’re having fun,” she said.  “Maybe we should pick something up for him while we’re out.  I have a doctor’s appointment and then I want to go shopping for the baby.  We officially find out if it’s a boy or a girl today!  I’m so excited!  Even though I think it’s a girl.”

“I’m sure they are as well.” he told her with a smile, feeling as if she was thinking things that she shouldn’t be thinking, so he kissed her head again as he stood up and threw Bronwyn above his head and caught her back in his arms as she fell to him. “Aw do we have to?” he said with a pouty face. “I don’t want to buy him presents.” he added with a laugh. “Fiiiiiine.” he sighed. Horace perked up slightly when she mentioned about finding out the gender. He knew she thought it was a girl, and Horace mentally tried to picture him having a daughter. He had Bronwyn, but a girl that looked like him? He felt bad for her already. “Well, I think it’s going to be a unicorn…so I guess one of us will be proven wrong or right today.” he winked, offering his hand to help her up.

leanne-sluggyhorn:

Leanne pursed her lips.  “I just don’t want them to think they have a chance or something.  They’re better off dead,” she said, her lips forming into a pout.  It wasn’t her fault she was so possessive, really.  It was his for having so many marriages.  It made her nervous.  Clearly, she was being completely reasonable and logical and threatening death was the only thing she could do.  Maybe.

When Horace’s hand rested on her belly, she laid her hand over his.  “I know,” she said softly.  She gave his hand a gentle squeeze.  “I do cook and clean for you!  And take care of your son that isn’t even biologically mine because you’re too busy having sex with your students.”  She winked at him and leaned over to kiss him.  Then she leaned down a bit to kiss Bronwyn’s forehead.  “Where is that boy, anyway?  I’ve lost track of what he does after school.”

Horace shook his head and gave her a little reassuring smile. “They don’t have a chance.” he told her, looking into her eyes and giving her a small nod. “Trust me. They’re all ugly little toads anyway.’ He winked. “How could I even think of anyone else while being married to you anyway? You are clearly crazy if you think so…which you are…but I’ll let it slide this time.” he winked, leaning over and kissing her on the forehead.

Horace turned his hand over and held hers in his own and smiled. “I know you do, that’s why I keep you around.” he laughed. “Who do you think he’s with?” he gave her a funny look which made it pretty obvious. “Him and Kamber wanted to go out and play by the lake by Kamber’s house and Charlie said he’d watch them so that’s where they are.” He told her with a sigh. “He’s been spending a lot of time with her lately, but I mean, I’m not going to tell him he can’t. Besides, I think she needs him a lot right now.” Horace shrugged as he mentally analysed the friendship between Chase and Kamber.

leanne-sluggyhorn:

Leanne smiled at Horace and Bronwyn.  They were perfect together, like they were meant to be in each others lives.  “That’s sort of weird, isn’t it?  Some of the people in your class are my age and some are even older than I am,” she said.  She crinkled her nose a little.  “Are any of the girls hitting on you?  Oh my God, I’ll kill them.  I’ll kill every last one of them.  I will make poison things in your little potions room and put them in cupcakes and give my cupcakes to those skanks and kill them.”  Something about Leanne’s pregnancy made her rather possessive in an extremely crazy way.  But the thought of any of his students flirting with him made her blood boil.  She was the only the student that could flirt with him.  He was hers and no one elses.  “You know, sometimes I think you’re only using me as a baby maker,” she said.  She looked down at her stomach and rubbed it again.  “But the baby has been warm and toasty all day with a few kicks here and there to tell me she’s awake and everything.”

Horace stopped rocking Bronwyn and just stared at Leanne with slightly wide eyes. “er…” he didn’t even really know what to say. “There’s the odd one here or there, but it’s always like that.” Horace shrugged. He never understood what girls saw in him. He was ordinary and geeky and was probably old enough to father some of them, but they continued to feel as if they had a chance. Although the only student Horace had ever even considered being with was of course Leanne, and now they were happily married. “Remind me to lock up my potions lab with a couple extra spells, yeah?” he raised an eyebrow and laughed a little. Horace moved over closer to her and put his hand on her stomach and felt how it sorta just moved slightly. “That is so weird…” he said a little quieter but looked back up at her and smiled. “No, not just a baby maker. I need you to cook and clean for me too.” he winked.

leanne-sluggyhorn:

Leanne heard Horace’s voice and smiled.  “I have food waiting for you on the table,” she told him when he came in the living room.  Bronwyn twisted around in Leanne’s lap to try and get a better view of Horace.  Leanne placed her on the floor.  “Dadda!” she squealed.  She clapped her hands together and bounced around.  The force of her excitement caused her to topple over on the floor.  Leanne laughed and helped her sit up.  “Well, at least one of us was happy to see you.  Unfortunately, that person is not me,” she said.  But she smiled at him to show that she was obviously joking.  “How was your day at work?  Fun?”

Horace hurried over and picked her up, swinging her above his head and smiling up at her. “Hello pretty princess.” he said, bringing her into him and giving her a big kiss on the cheek. He brought her into his chest and looked back down at Leanne. “It’s okay…I don’t need your love anyway. I only need Bronwyn. At least she loves me.” he said stiffly, turning up his nose but cracking a bit of a smile. He let out a long sigh and rocked Bronwyn softly as he began to speak. “Horrible.” he rolled his eyes. “How you are the same age as some of them I will never understand. It’s like I’m talking to wallpaper. Only a few more weeks to go though…only a few more weeks.” Horace said with a long sigh. “And you? How has my little wifey been doing today? Keeping that little bun all warm and toasty?” he raised an eyebrow and smiling, sitting down on the couch and putting Bronwyn on his lap.

leanne-sluggyhorn:

Leanne sat on the couch while she watched Bronwyn crawling around on the floor.  She had just started crawling about a week before but she hadn’t stopped since except to eat and sleep.  Leanne wanted to get down on her hands and knees to crawl with her daughter but her stomach was getting too big and it hung uncomfortably every time she tried.  Stupid fat stomach with her stupid fetus that really wasn’t stupid at all.  She sighed and rubbed circles around her belly.  “You’re starting to get in the way of fun things, little baby,” she said.  “Soon you’ll be so big I won’t even be able to walk.”  It was sort of true, too.  Towards the end of her pregnancy with Bronwyn, she’d had a lot of trouble walking around and Bronwyn was small due to a lack of natal care in the beginning.  This new baby had been taken care of since the moment Leanne found out she was pregnant and it was already almost twice the size Bronwyn was when she was the same length into the pregnancy.  She pouted.  She definitely was not built to carry a baby around for nine months.

Bronwyn crawled over to Leanne and then sat back on her bum.  She stared up at her mom with big grey eyes.  “Hi, there,” Leanne said with a smile.  “Dadda,” Bronwyn replied.  It was still the only word she knew.  Leanne bent to pick her up.  “Dadda will be home soon!  Then we’ll go shopping.  Sound good?”  Bronwyn gurgled and giggled, little spit bubbles forming at the corners of her mouth.  “You’re yucky,” Leanne told her.  She wiped the spit from the babies lips and smiled.  “No more yucky!”

Horace had spent his morning teaching whiny little magical college students as he always did on days such as this. He was happy that the term would be ending soon and all those whiny little brats that he was forced to teach would be gone away for the summer. He was also excited because he knew that with every passing day, he was closer and closer to being a father once again. His excitement however, did not cover up the fact that he was bloody terrified. He hadn’t been around a lot for Chase when he was a baby, not because he didn’t want to be, but because he wasn’t allowed to be. So Horace never really did get the chance to father his own child straight from birth. But of course he had been there for Leanne when Bronwyn was born and Draco was nowhere to be found. He had literally seen the tiny baby pop right out of his mother, but now it was just the slightest bit different. That was his little baby popping out of his tiny little wife, and he wondered if it’d feel any different as well.

He hurried home though, not wanting to waste precious time with his cute little family. Soon they’d be a family of 5, which was exciting, and yet again terrifying, seeing as how he was going to have to provide for another hungry mouth, especially with Leanne on maternity leave from her shop. Horace smiled as he walked in the door and called out for them. “I’m home! I want food!” he said, throwing his stuff down on the bench by the front door and walking in a few steps. “And my gorgeous wife and little runts but I mean…food first.” he said with a laugh, walking into the living room and seeing Leanne sitting with her growing belly and Bronwyn.

leanne-sluggyhorn:

Leanne rested the side of her head against Horace’s and kept her arms and legs firmly around him.  “Um…,” she started and then paused.  She wasn’t quite sure where she wanted to go, actually.  “We could go to that cute little French place the resort has that’s close to the water.  Or somewhere else.  I don’t know, whatever you want.”  She kissed his cheek.  She could eat anything, really.  She just wanted him to be happy.

“That sounds absolutely wonderful.” he smiled, not caring all that much where they went. All he knew was that he was starving, and pretty much a dead fish carcus could hold him over now. Just as they walked through a door, Horace’s stomach rumbled and he looked down at it and made a face. “Are you sure it’s you that’s pregnant, because I’m beginning to think something is growing in there.” he frowned.

leanne-sluggyhorn:

Leanne giggled and gave his hand a gentle squeeze.  Every time he called her Leanne Slughorn or Mrs. Slughorn or his wife, she could feel her insides get all fluttery with happiness.  It was the same feeling she got when she thought about their baby or looked at her wedding ring that matched his.  It still seemed so unbelievable that they were actually married.  The day of their wedding had gone by in a blur of stress and emotions and she regretted not paying more attention.  Leanne slipped on her own sandals and then jumped on Horace’s back.  “Give me a piggy back ride,” she demanded.  She kissed his neck and giggled again.

Horace held her on his back and hopped up so she wouldn’t fall. A lot like how he saw Chase do to Kamber all the time, which made him laugh, and also miss him and Bronwyn quite a lot. “Yes, your highness.” he sighed as he held her on his back and walked out of their room. “Where to?” he asked, walking down the hall to the door.

leanne-sluggyhorn:

Leanne put a cover-up over her bikini and turned to Horace with a small smile.  “Let’s go eat or something,” she said quietly.  Her pregnancy hormones had made her feel so weird lately.  She was happy one minute and the next she felt like she wanted nothing more than to curl up in bed and sleep forever.  She figured her sadness could probably be attributed to the fact that she missed Chase and Bronwyn so much it was unbelievable.  She wanted to hold Bronwyn and cuddle with Chase and just be with them again.  “What do you want for today?  I was thinking maybe Italian or something.  I don’t know.  Whatever you want.  And then we can go to the beach and cuddle maybe?”

Just as she mentioned food, Horace’s stomach growled and he began to nod vigorously. “Yes, food. Yes. Please, yes.’ he said quickly, turning around and slipping on his shoes. Horace looked back at her and gave her a wide grin. “And then all that lovey dovey stuff, yes of course.” he winked at her as he started to the door. He turned back around and offered his hand to her. “Let’s go Mrs. Slughorn.” he smiled at her with a small twinkle in his eye.
